Obey God’s Arrangements – Reflection on Matthew 6:26
Matthew 6:26
"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?"
Reflection
From this verse, Jesus tells us not to worry about the future. We are created by God. In order to make people survive better on earth, God created everything that mankind requires in advance. As it is recorded in the Bible that when God commanded Abraham to the land which God promised him, he didn’t consider his future and left his hometown. Because of his real faith and worship of God, he could obey His orchestrations and arrangements, and he was blessed by God in his life. We are familiar with Job: He only pursued knowledge of God in his lifetime to fear God and shun evil, so God enriched him. When he was stripped of all his property and all of his children, he didn’t complain against God or worry about the future because of his faith in God, but expressed his reverence for God with obedience and praise. Later, he not only gained more blessings from God, but his lifespan was doubled. Jesus’ words make us understand that we can be blessed by God when we practice Jesus’ words, obey His way and pursue the truth to fear Him and shun evil. And this is the condition of being saved into the heavenly kingdom. Only if we love God with all our hearts, with all our minds, and with all our strengths, and accept everything God has arranged and prepared for us, and pursue the knowledge of God, will we have a happy life.
