In December of 2016, I accepted Almighty God’s work of the last days and later preached the gospel to my daughter-in-law. We often read God’s words and watched videos from The Church of Almighty God together. However, just when I was enjoying God’s love, Satan’s disruptions came upon me quietly.

The May 28 Murder Case brought about a storm at home.

One night, I was reading God’s words sitting on the sofa in the living room, when my son came back home from work. Upon seeing me, he said, stony-faced, “You are reading God’s words again? Can’t you read them less?” Hearing this, I felt very perplexed: “I have believed in God for a long time, and he never opposed me. But why did he say such words today?”

The next evening, my daughter-in-law said to me, “Mom, a few days ago, your son showed me lots of negative information made up online by the Chinese Communist Party to frame The Church of Almighty God. Mom, is the God we believe in really the one true God?” Hearing her say this, I felt upset, thinking, “Never did I expect that my son would oppose my belief in God.” At this thought, I immediately came before God, praying, “O Almighty God! Now I feel very upset inside. May You quiet my heart. I know the negative information online is false. I’m sure that You are the true God, but I feel this environment around me is insurmountable. May You give me cleverness and wisdom, and guide me to experience this environment.” After praying, I remembered God’s words, “In every step of work that God does within people, externally it appears to be interactions between people, as if born of human arrangements or from human interference. But behind the scenes, every step of work, and everything that happens, is a wager made by Satan before God, and requires people to stand firm in their testimony to God.” From God’s words, I understood this: The environment that I’m in appears on the outside to be my son obstructing me from believing in God, but, behind the scenes, it is Satan disrupting me to make me give up the true way. I can’t fall for its tricks. I should persist in believing in God and stand firm in my testimony to God. After understanding God’s will, I had the power to face the environment calmly.

Later I walked to my son with my daughter-in-law. Upon seeing me, my son quickly took out his cellphone and showed me the news about May 28 Zhaoyuan Murder Case, saying with anxiety, “This is reported by the news media, so how could it not be true?” Seeing that the CCP brought false charges against The Church of Almighty God, I was filled with righteous indignation, saying, “These are all rumors and absolutely go against fact! It is reported by the news media—but so what? The ‘Tiananmen Square self-immolation’ incident was also reported by the news media, but wasn’t it also fabricated by the CCP? When the court heard the May 28 Zhaoyuan Case, Zhang Fan said, ‘I never had contact with The Church of Almighty God because they are very secretive.’ Lyu Yingchun said, ‘What the state cracks down on is the Almighty God that Zhao Weishan believes in, not the Almighty God that we believe in.’ They themselves said they were not members of The Church of Almighty God, but the CCP insisted that they were. This is not in line with the facts at all. Anyone with a discerning eye can easily see that this is the CCP trying to frame The Church of Almighty God. Its purpose is to persecute against religious beliefs. Besides, the kingdom’s administrative decrees promulgated by Almighty God clearly stipulate, ‘Kin who are not of the faith (your children, your husband or wife, your sisters or your parents, and so on) should not be forced into the church. God’s household is not short of members, and there is no need to make up its numbers with people who have no use. All those who do not believe gladly must not be led into the church. This decree is directed at all people. You should check, monitor, and remind each other of this matter; no one may violate it. Even when kin who are not of the faith do reluctantly enter the church, they must not be issued books nor given a new name; such people are not of God’s household, and their entry into the church must be halted by any means necessary.’ God’s words have clearly told us to preach the gospel based on the principle: ‘All those who do not believe gladly must not be led into the church.’ God’s disposition does not tolerate man’s offense, so all believers in God preach the gospel with a heart that fears God. However, it was reported that when Zhang Lidong and his gang preached gospel to Ms. Wu, they asked her for her phone number, and even killed her just because of her refusal. The way they preached the gospel was not at all in accordance with God’s words or the principle of The Church of Almighty God in transmitting the gospel. So obviously, Zhang Lidong and his gang are not members of The Church of Almighty God. As we all know, the CCP resists God and has been using textbooks to teach people that there is no God in the world, so that people will believe in and worship it. Since Almighty God carried out His work of the last days in China, millions of people have accepted God’s gospel. And now Almighty God’s work of the last days has spread overseas to every country. Various websites have published the words of Almighty God, and more and more people begin to seek and investigate the true way. Facing such a situation, how can the CCP allow people to worship God instead of it? So in order to thoroughly prohibit The Church of Almighty God, it fabricated the May 28 Case, through which it wants to arrest God’s chosen people and tear down God’s work. This is the sinister intention of the CCP!”

When I finished saying this, my son was left speechless and just nodded. Through this experience, my daughter-in-law gained some discernment of the rumors and went on investigating Almighty God’s work of the last days.

Pain is God’s blessing.

The case had closed, but upon thinking of Satan’s disruption, I couldn’t help but feel uneasy, because I didn’t know what would happen to me next. During a meeting, I recounted my condition to my brothers and sisters. Then Sister Zhao read a passage of God’s words to me, “Do not be discouraged, do not be weak, and I will make things clear for you. The road to the kingdom is not so smooth; nothing is that simple! You want blessings to come to you easily, do you not? Today, everyone will have bitter trials to face. Without such trials, the loving heart you have for Me will not grow stronger and you will not have true love for Me. Even if these trials consist merely of minor circumstances, everyone must pass through them; it’s just that the difficulty of the trials will vary from one person to another.” Then she fellowshiped with me, “From God’s words, we can see that the path of believing in God is not smooth and that we will face lots of temptations and disturbances of Satan. Your son persecuted you and obstructed you from believing in God because of the rumors of the CCP. From the outside, it is bad and makes you feel pained, but there is God’s will behind it. God’s permitting such circumstance to come upon us is to give us His truth, so that we can see through the evil and despicable essence of Satan, and have a deeper appreciation of God’s salvation; meanwhile, in such circumstances, we rely on God and look up to Him more urgently, so that we can be closer to God and have more faith to follow Him. Peter also had experienced hundreds of trials and refinements before he was finally perfected by God.” From her fellowship, I understood God’s will. It was in such an environment that I drew near to God more often and relied on Him more urgently. Through the persecution of my son, I had some discernment of the CCP’s evil essence. It only allows people to follow evil paths, and does not allow people to follow the true way, and thus it persecutes religious beliefs so crazily. At that moment, I developed a heart that hated the CCP and came to know that only God loves us the most, and that only God can lead us onto the right path of life. This was indeed God’s blessing to me.

Who says we don’t want our families?

One night, when I returned home after work and passed by my son’s room, I heard him shouting at my daughter-in-law. At that time, I was shocked, thinking, “Something bad must have happened.” Then, I walked into his room and saw my daughter-in-law crying. Upon seeing me, my son said fiercely, “This is no way to live!” Then he walked to me and showed me a video on his cellphone, saying, “Have a careful look!” Then, I saw a girl in the video saying that after believing in Almighty God, her mother abandoned her home to preach the gospel. At that time, I realized that it was Satan again using rumors to deceive my son and make him oppose our faith in God. Then I prayed to God silently in my heart, “Dear Almighty God, Satan is unwilling to give up, and again uses my son to persecute us. I’m willing to entrust everything to You. May You grant me with the words I should speak, so that I can counterattack Satan’s schemes. Amen!” After prayer, I said to my son calmly, “Son, I have believed in Almighty God for a long time. Have I, in your eyes, become better or worse? Do I quarrel with your dad more or less frequently?” Hearing this, my son went silent for a moment, and my daughter-in-law said to him, “Mom indeed has become better.” Hearing her say this, my son said, “I admit that you’ve changed. You used to frequently quarrel with dad, but now you seldom do that. Our family has become more harmonious.” Then I continued, “Before I have faith in God, I often quarreled with your dad over trifles, and wouldn’t stop until he obeyed me. Later from God’s words, I understood that such behaviors were the manifestations of arrogance and megalomania, which were despised by God. So I learned to put myself aside and deny myself when his actions were not to my liking, and now we are able to live together in harmony. Additionally, I’ve been looking after the kids, cooking and doing housework, haven’t I? However, the rumors say that we don’t want our families after believing in Almighty God; isn’t this distorting the truth and confounding black and white?” Hearing my words, they both nodded.

Then I continued, “Almighty God says: ‘As members of the human race and devout Christians, it is the responsibility and obligation of us all to offer up our minds and bodies for the fulfillment of God’s commission, for our entire being came from God, and it exists thanks to the sovereignty of God. If our minds and bodies are not for God’s commission and not for the righteous cause of mankind, then our souls will feel unworthy of those who were martyred for God’s commission, and much more unworthy of God, who has provided us with everything.’ It is God who created us humans and gave us breath. So as Christians, we should make some effort to complete God’s commission; otherwise, we are too lacking in conscience and rationality. We have gained God’s salvation, and are willing to forsake our personal pleasures of the flesh to preach the gospel, so that those who are still living in misery can be saved by God. This is the most righteous cause and is approved by God. Just as the Lord Jesus said, ‘And every one that has forsaken houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundred times, and shall inherit everlasting life’ (Matthew 19:29). So the statement online that we believers in Almighty God don’t want our families is not in line with God’s words at all. What’s more, is it true that the brothers and sisters of The Church of Almighty God don’t want their families? It is all because the CCP resists God and crazily arrests them that they daren’t return home and have their families destroyed. For fear of being arrested, many brothers and sisters pass their hometown but dare not return home. But now the CCP actually says it is us believers in Almighty God not wanting our families. This is really confounding black and white!” Hearing this, my son said nothing, and no longer obstructed us from believing in God.

Having experienced these disturbances and battles, I truly felt it difficult for us Christians to follow God and walk the right way. If it hadn’t been for God’s guidance, if I hadn’t relied on God, I would have failed to stand firm. God’s words say, “God does His work, God cares for a person, looks upon this person, and all the while Satan dogs His every step. Whomever God favors, Satan also watches, trailing along behind. If God wants this person, Satan would do everything in its power to obstruct God, using various evil ploys to tempt, disrupt and wreck the work God does, all in order to achieve its hidden objective. What is this objective? It does not want God to gain anyone; all those that God wants it wants for itself, it wants to occupy them, control them, to take charge of them so they worship it, so they join it in committing evil acts. Is this not Satan’s sinister motive?” God becomes flesh in the last days and expresses His words to change and purify us humans, so that we can be gained by Him and enter the beautiful destination He bestows on us. However, unwilling to let us return to God, Satan has been disrupting and obstructing us, making up rumors and creating false cases to attack and frame The Church of Almighty God. It also deceives our families to persecute us and obstruct us from following God and walking the right way. Its sinister goal is to make us weak and fearful and give up our faith, so that we will return under its domain and end up being ruined by God with it. Satan is really too despicable!

Actually, my son also believes in the existence of God. It was just because of Satan’s rumors that he opposed our faith in God. In order that he would not do things that resist God, I preached Almighty God’s gospel of the kingdom to him. Thank God for His guidance. Now my son sometimes reads Almighty God’s words.

Epilog

Thinking back to the way I’ve walked, I deeply know that it was God’s words that guided me to overcome Satan’s temptations and siege. Not only did I see the evil and despicableness of Satan, I also saw God’s almightiness and sovereignty, which made my faith to follow God more steadfast.
